The verified official routes
Athmex has thoroughly tested two consumer connections published by the platforms themselves: COROS connects to Claude and ChatGPT, and Strava connects to Claude only for paid Strava subscribers. There is also a third way Apple Health data may be able to reach ChatGPT that is not a connector at all, covered below, but it will only be available to some.
COROS: one official connection for both assistants
COROS publishes a remote connection for Claude and ChatGPT. Its official setup guide lists activity records, daily health, sleep, HRV, stress, training load, VO₂ max, recovery status, race predictions and the training calendar.
The connection is read-only. Deeper activity-file requests can expose GPS and more detailed interval information, with a limit of 50 files per calendar day. Cycling power is not part of the standard query set.
Claude supports custom connections on both free and paid plans. For ChatGPT, you’ll need a Plus or Pro account to allow you to add custom plugins in developer mode.
Strava: official, but currently Claude only
Strava launched its official connection for paid subscribers on 1 June 2026. The current Strava help page documents Claude setup, read-only access and a Strava subscription requirement. It says support for other assistants may follow, but it does not promise a ChatGPT setup despite demand being high.
Devices that already sync activities to Strava may be able to use that as a route to Claude. The exact activity fields depend on what reached Strava. It is not a complete copy of the originating watch or health account.
ChatGPT Health: a possible route, but not a connector
OpenAI's Health feature can read Apple Health, and Garmin, WHOOP, Oura and Strava can all write into Apple Health. That gives their data a way into ChatGPT. It is genuinely useful, and it does not belong in the table above as a wearable connector.
The difference is who publishes and maintains it. A connection like COROS's is built by the wearable brand, authorises against your account with that brand, and answers live queries against it. The Apple Health route is built by OpenAI and Apple between them. No wearable brand publishes or maintains it, and what it carries is limited to whatever each app chooses to write into Apple Health, which OpenAI says varies by app and metric, with some proprietary scores not transferring.
It is narrower in who can use it, too: logged-in Free, Go, Plus and Pro accounts in the United States, aged 18 or over, and connecting Apple Health requires an iPhone. If a brand later publishes its own ChatGPT connection, that would be a different thing from this, and it would appear in the table above.
Garmin: no direct consumer connection
No Garmin-built consumer connection for Claude or ChatGPT was found in Garmin’s consumer support, developer documentation or Connect IQ catalogue. Garmin’s developer programme is for approved businesses and requires an application.
The documented consumer route is explained in the Garmin connection guide: sync Garmin activities to Strava, then connect Strava to Claude. This requires a Strava subscription and does not give Claude the full Garmin account data like HRV or sleep.
What counts as official
Official means the platform itself publishes and maintains the connection and documents how an athlete authorises it. Athmex does not count a community project, a desktop script or a third-party hosted bridge as an official route.
This page deliberately excludes brands whose status has not yet passed that verification standard. A missing brand is not being declared unsupported; it means Athmex has not finished a current first-party check for that brand.
Where Athmex fits
These connections supply activity or health data. Athmex supplies the dated athlete facts that are usually absent from that data: current PBs, thresholds, goals, races, injuries and equipment. The sources remain separate. Athmex does not import the connector’s activity data.
Does COROS work with both Claude and ChatGPT?
Yes. COROS documents setup for both assistants. Claude supports custom connections on Free and paid plans. For ChatGPT, OpenAI currently documents read and fetch MCP connections in Developer Mode for Pro users and does not list Plus, while COROS's own guide refers to ChatGPT Plus.
Does Strava work with ChatGPT?
No. Its official help page lists Claude and says support for other assistants may follow. Strava data can still reach ChatGPT if Strava writes it into Apple Health and you connect Apple Health to ChatGPT, but that is OpenAI's route rather than a Strava connector.
Why are community connections excluded?
They are not maintained by the wearable brand and can change without notice. Athmex publishes only routes it can support with current first-party documentation.
